Jemma McKenzie Brown News, Gossip and Appearances
The New Wildcats

The new cast members of High School Musical 3: Senior Year are fast becoming friends.

It was obvious that the bond of friendship is strong among the new cast members of High School Musical 3: Senior Year (HSM3) during the promotional interviews at Los Angeles’s Four Seasons Hotel. As the three newbies walked into a hotel room, they were already busy with laughter and giggles, loudly discussing who should sit in the middle this time. Fourteen-year-old Jemma McKenzie-Brown decided that it was her turn, once again.

The newly-minted Disney Kids quickly switched on whatever professional charm they possesed, took their seats

and looked ready to face the questions that were about to be hurled their way. It should be mentioned that they were genuine, funny, talkative and brilliant … oh, and not to forget - an intelligent young lot.

“No!” they shouted unanimously when asked if any of them had expected to be part of the HSM phenomenon. ... Read More ...
My mates asked: What’s Zac Efron like?

BRIT teenager JEMMA McKENZIE-BROWN is living every schoolgirl’s dream – starring alongside pin-up ZAC EFRON in movie sensation High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

The 14-year-old Yorkshire lass was plucked from obscurity to join the household names in the Disney franchise which has taken the world by storm.

Jemma said: “It hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s crazy. My close friends can’t wait to see the film.

“They rang every week I was in The US and gathered round the phone to ask, ‘What’s Zac Efron like?’ ” ... Read More ...
‘High School Musical’ Newbies Think Of Themselves As ‘A Breath Of Fresh Air’ For East High

‘We get to pass on a torch to three new faces,’ Corbin Bleu says of Justin Martin, Jemma McKenzie-Brown and Matt Prokop.

If the rumors are true, there may be a fourth “High School Musical” movie on the way. And although we’re saying goodbye to the original cast in “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” the latest film introduces three fresh-faced newbies — Justin Martin, Jemma McKenzie-Brown and Matt Prokop — to pick up where the original Wildcats left off.

But Martin doesn’t think the new crew will replace the originals; he sees this as an

But Martin doesn’t think the new crew will replace the originals; he sees this as an opportunity to grow the story, not just recycle it. “Our characters are so much unlike [the other castmembers],” he told MTV News. “Like, people always say, ‘Oh, you’re the new Corbin [Bleu] or the new Zac [Efron] or the new Ashley [Tisdale].’ But our characters are so much unlike them. I think it’s more a breath of fresh air for ‘High School Musical’ as the three new characters.” ... Read More ...
Meet The Fresh Faces Of ‘High School Musical: Senior Year’
-Posted by: Quivi

Considering this latest incarnation of “High School Musical” has the added line of “Senior Year” to its title, I think we can all be pretty sure this is the last we will be seeing of Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, Lucas, Monique or Corbin in the halls of East High. Unless of course someone wants to make “College Musical.” Instead, should this feature film version of “High School Musical” be a huge hit, I think Disney may keep its franchise alive by introducing us to a brand new class of kids.

That’s exactly why I think such a big deal has been made about the three new cast members making their debut in HSM3. Disney held an international casting search involving over 1,000 teen actors across the United States, Canada, and the U.K. to find three sophomore Wildcats. Matt Prokop, Justin Martin, and Jemma McKenzie-Brown were the lucky three plucked out of near obscurity.

I traveled to the set and had a chance to sit down with the three newbie’s who seem to be fitting in with the group quite perfectly. Ashley Tisdale has taken Jemma under her wing. Vanessa Hudgens admits to whipping out her English accent around Jemma. Corbin Bleu has the gang over to his room almost every night to play video games. Everyone is giving the trio tips on how to stay grounded should fame strike. According to Matt their main advice was not let fame go to their heads,

“Be yourself mainly. That’s the one thing they said. With all of the success, just don’t change. Just be who you are and true to yourself.” ... Read More ...
High School Musical 3 -- The New Kids Are in Town
-Posted by: Bing

We've been through a lot with the Wildcats. From that first fateful "Spring Musicale" to the big game, summer jobs (and summer romance), we've laughed, cried, and danced along with Troy and Gabriella, Sharpay and Ryan, Chad and Taylor.

Now, with "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" debuting on the glorious big screen in movie theaters across the land on October 24, the kids from East High are back, entering their senior year. But there are some new faces among them -- the debuting sophomores who just might represent the future of America's most beloved on-screen high school.

In this third "High School Musical" film, we meet three fresh young talents: Jimmie "the Rocket" Zara (Matt Prokop), who would like to take center court on the basketball team; Donny Dion (Justin Martin), Jimmie's loyal best buddy and the team towel boy; and Tiara Gold (Jemma McKenzie-Brown), Sharpay's way-too-good-to-be-true new "personal assistant." ... Interview with High School Musical films director Kenny Ortega
-Posted by: Bing

In his long career as a choreographer and filmmaker, Kenny Ortega has worked with everyone from Gene Kelly and Francis Coppola to Michael Jackson, Cher, Elton John and Madonna.

Yet, he's had his greatest success to date as the director of the phenomenally popular High School Musical films, the third of which, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, arrives in cinemas later this year.

We met with Ortega on the set of the new film and asked him what's in store now that High School Musical is making the jump to the big screen.

Q: What is going on at East High in this third film?
A: We're on a different plane in terms of our story and the stakes that our kids are dealing with. We come in during spring, at the end of the basketball season, so it's this transitional moment and our characters are looking toward the future, to college and their lives beyond school, and wondering what's going to happen to their friendships and their relationships. ... High School Musical 3 - Fashion 101
-Posted by: Bing

As soon as we saw the online trailer for "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," we were salivating all over our keyboards in anticipation. What will become of Troy and Gabriella? Will Sharpay finally get over herself? And, more importantly, what will they be wearing? Well, lucky for us, MSN got ahold of "HSM3" costume designer Caroline Marx, who gave us a few hints as to what to expect from our favorite East High School students.

When it comes to fashion, we all know who is queen: Sharpay Evans (played by Ashley Tisdale). Marx hints that Sharpay wears "all the hot colors for this coming season: cobalt blue, fuchsia and metallic." What ... you thought she'd be strolling around in greys and browns?

As for "HSM3" jumping to the big screen, Marx says "so many more elements come into play since everything is going to be viewed on such a large scale. Everything is seen down to the buttons and the color of shoelaces." Here's to viewing Sharpay's accessories in high def!

Which character's style does Marx describe as a "young James Dean"? Why, it's Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), of course. Throughout the film, Marx dresses him mostly in "slim jeans and fitted T's." We're not complaining! ... Read More ...
